Our Approach to Website Design & Development

We believe that web design when done correctly produces an attractive and profitable result. We design effective websites, then build them to last with standards-based, accessible HTML/CSS, and pair them up with solid backends. We have a simple process we follow with every project that addresses the core fundamentals of creating unique, usable designs for the web. While the end result is ultimately “a web site”, this process starts the successful launch of a design that works for you. If we spend more time designing, the site won't require much "decorating".

Discovery

We gather information to ensure that your project is initiated with a common understanding of your business objectives and audience in an effort to translate that into an effective web site that meets your goals.

Information Design and Strategy

After all the information has been gathered we start figuring out how your stuff should fit together, organizing content, content types, and content hierarchies to create the first draft of the functional layout. That requires deeper thinking. It means asking more questions. What is it for? What should it do? For whom? What parts do we shoot and which do we keep?

Code Design

After the layout is drafted, we start writing the code to make things happen. We believe that the code behind the site is as fundamentally important and thus should be as clean, elegant and beautiful as the visual and text elements that consumers see. We design for best-practices in information design, usability & accessibility across browsers, users and mediums.

Go Live

After the necessary elements have been incorporated in the design we publish. Our goal is to get your new presence on the web with the most immediately necessary information, and then continue to fine tune the design based on feedback from your interaction with customers.
